The phone Scammer who called me by my name!!

Nelson from IT Edge Consultants

Hi Neighbours,

Just a quick warning to put a word out there that the phone scammers are becoming more & more sophisticated. Just last week I received a call from a person who called me by my name who was purportedly calling from my "Internet Service Provider" (ISP). They got my name and my ISP details correct!! Their reason for calling was that to "fix illegal activities on my internet connection which they had detected and wanted on in front of a computer to fix it ..."

After realising that I was an IT Expert was not going to play ball, the guy quickly hanged up obviously going for the next unsuspecting victim...

I am sharing my story so that hopefully someone does not become a victim... In my view the best way to deal with these guys is to let them know that you know that they are up to and then hang up, never entertain them!! That way they will not be any incentive to for them to persist....

Please let me know if you need any more info on how to stay safe online by making sure you have enough computer protection on your computer:
Cheers,

Nelson

💡 A Little Brain Buzz for You⚡

The Riddler from The Neighbourly Riddler

I have two faces, but show you only one.
I once had guests, but now have none.
I’m rarely bloody and seldom blue.
I’m often promised and sometimes new

(Trev from Tamatea kindly provided this head-scratcher ... thanks, Trev!)

Got more greens than you know what to do with? 🥦🌱🥕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Whether it’s a courgette takeover or a feijoa frenzy, don’t let those garden gems go to waste!

Our suggestion to you: Did you know you can grate and freeze excess courgettes to use in chocolate cake later? It sounds a bit dodgy, but it makes the cake incredibly moist ... and hey, it counts as a serving of veg, right? 🍫
