Introducing our AMI Community Grant Finalists

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

This is day number six of showcasing two of our AMI Community Grant finalists to share a bit more about the great work that they're doing in Kiwi communities. You can help support these organisations by voting for them to win their share of $20,000.

South Canterbury Child Restraint Rentals
Car seat hire schemes were abandoned in New Zealand after 35 years of support. We think that it is important to have seats available to families with children visiting from out of town or overseas. Without a local rental scheme, they would need to purchase brand new car seats to only be used for a few weeks. The few seats we have at the moment are due to expire next year - we need to build up stock! VOTE NOW!

Students working to make walkways safe
Students from Murrays Bay Primary School and Intermediate School have worked with the New Zealand Police and Auckland Transport in an effort to encourage students to walk to school. Students have designed a logo that Auckland Transport have made into a stencil. The students want to use this logo on safe walkways to their schools. They need funds for the paint and brushes to do this. VOTE NOW!

Happy Tuesday neighbours, here's a riddle to get your mind going.

Riddler from The Neighbourly Riddler

I am beautiful, up in the sky.
I am magical, yet I cannot fly.
To some I bring luck, and to some, I bring riches.
The boy at my end does whatever he wishes.
What am I?

Poll: Should you ask before planting tall shrubs/trees near your property line?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

It may be fine now but in a few years trees can block out light or views for neighbours.

Do you think neighbours should ask before they go ahead and plant these?
