Hillcrest Lions are holding their annual monster garage sale on the 14th Nov from 7am (till about 10.30 or 11am). We have a large quantity of goods for sale - housewares, furniture, clothing, bric a brac, electrical appliances, tools, linen, paintings, and heaps more. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
