Rubbish Collection.

Yvonne from Northcote

In search of transparency and reassurance void of parallel and undisclosed protocols, with Auckland Council.Having just found out that Tauranga City ratepayers are to be landed with an average annual house rates increase of $400, due to the Council changing collection contractors from a collection of private companies weekly, to a multi national monopoly, which prohibits refuse site use, stated household collections fortnightly,(imagine the vermin issue and summer heat stench increase), let alone overextending the existing bin capacity; at this recovery time, loss of existing jobs and supposed breach of existing contracts. One can only surmise this as a potential NZ infrastructure grab, as in the Islands of New Guinea, Rarotonga, Fiji and Vavau. This is so detrimental : it smacks of favours.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?
