Free BBQ! Walk the new track!
This is a new step-free route between Kauri Glen Road and Tui Glen Road, with a refurbished track (including steps) to Raymond Terrace. The new bridge is around 6 storeys high with a very impressive view of the forest tree tops.
The new tracks, bridge and boardwalk have been built to a standard to help prevent the spread of kauri dieback disease, which is especially important in this park.
*** Please always clean your shoes, bikes, prams and wheelchairs at the stations. ***
Note: We made the decision to allow public access earlier than expected to prevent further damage to the forest by those who were throwing the fences into the trees 🙁

It is thought that Aqua has a condition called Ununited Anconeal Process (UAP). The right front elbow looks quite badly affected and will need an operation costing approximately $2000. I am currently trying to raise some money towards her operation. A highly intelligent girl who is fully toilet trained, tether trained, semi lead trained, stop trained, come trained. She is very affectionate and is going to be a large assertive dog of great beauty. Aqua is free to an excellent home who is willing to cover the cost of her operation (I will help as much as i can) AND she must be spayed. National Anzac Day events include the Dawn Service at 6.00am and the National Commemorative Service at 11.00am (both at Pukeahu National War Memorial Park, Wellington), and the Atatürk Memorial Service at 2.30pm in Strathmore, Wellington. The Dawn Service and National Commemorative Service will be broadcast live by TVNZ 1 and RNZ National.
For those wanting to join the Anzac Day parade at the Dawn Service, veterans are asked to assemble on Tasman Street by 5.30am.
The Atatürk Memorial Service in Strathmore will include a wreath-laying ceremony. A shuttle service will be running from Bowes Crescent carpark to the memorial site for anyone who may require assistance accessing the site.
