Watch: Gaggle of geese run fowl on northern motorway
A gaggle of geese held up traffic on the northern motorway as they found themselves stuck on the road on Thursday afternoon.
The geese entered the motorway from a lake at the Rosedale Wastewater Treatment Plant. Feathers flew as the geese headed north, before they took the nearest exit – a berm near the Greville Rd off-ramp.
The geese were in a flap when they realised they were stuck between a concrete barrier and three lanes of Auckland’s busy holiday traffic.
While the geese appeared largely unruffled after the incident, motorists were said to have had goose bumps.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
