Residents ‘dig’ Ryman’s Trees for Fees initiative

Bert Sutcliffe Retirement Village

With 500 trees now newly-planted on a slope in a Whitford farm paddock, Ryman Healthcare is well on the way to fulfilling its promise of a more sustainable invoicing process.

For every resident who switches from paper to email invoicing, Ryman has pledged to plant a tree, and has partnered with Trees for Survival Charitable Trust to achieve this goal.

Poll: Should we ditch daylight saving? 🕰️

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

First introduced in New Zealand in 1927 with the passing of the Summer Time Act, it's what we know as 'Daylight Saving' and this year it ends on the first Sunday in April.

While we do get to sleep in this time around, some people would like to scrap the clock tinkering for good.

And why? Some evidence suggests the time changes are bad for our health as they mess with sleep patterns leading to short-term fatigue and affecting mood. Meanwhile the hour change is frustrating for farmers and a nightmare for getting the littlies to sleep. But what's your take?

Poll: Are you still heading to your local for your caffeine fix, or has the $$ changed your habits? ☕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Auckland has a thriving cafe culture, but with costs climbing, that culture is under pressure. We’ve seen the headlines about recent closures across the country, and it’s a tough pill to swallow along with a $6+ coffee.

We all want our favourite spots to stay open, but we also have to balance our own budgets ⚖️

We want to know: How are you handling the "coffee math" in 2026? Are you still heading to your local for a chat and a caffeine fix, or has the cost of living changed your habits?

Keen to read more about "coffee math"? The Post has you covered.

April Holiday Group Tutoring Sessions for Year 10 Numeracy CAA Assessment

Briony from Mairangi Bay

Year 10 Numeracy CAA Prep – April Holiday Group Sessions (Murrays Bay)

Kia ora,

With the Year 10 Numeracy CAA coming up in May, I’ll be running small group tutoring sessions over the April school holidays — a great chance for students to prepare ahead of the assessment.
I’m an experienced maths teacher and am familiar with exactly what students need for the Numeracy CAA.
Group sessions will be co-taught by myself and my son, a Mechanical Engineering graduate and experienced maths tutor, meaning students benefit from two tutors in each session for extra support.

These sessions will focus on:
• Key numeracy skills required for the CAA
• Working through relevant problems and strategies and past assessments
• Building confidence before the assessment

Holiday sessions are ideal for consolidating skills without the pressure of regular schoolwork.
• Small group sessions (great rates)
• 1:1 sessions also available
• All resources provided
Please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to chat or book a spot.
