We would like to invite you to attend our 2019 Annual General Meeting 27th July 1.30 to 3.30 pm at Kelvin Grove Community Centre, 68 Kaimanawa St., Palmerston North.
As usual we believe we have accomplished a great year of community activities that we’d like to share with you as well as hear your side of how our Palmerston North Community includes our community.
Our achievements this year have been >>
• Fun Day (in conjunction with the National Neighbours Day celebrations) at Linklater Reserve, a FREE day for everyone which hosted about 1,500 people – BBQ, bouncy castles, waterslide, orienteering, dancing, BMX, flying fox, log clambering, etc. Photographs from this event will be at our presentation.
• Our thanks to PNCC Community Advisor Julia Panfylova for facilitating the big day, with cooperation from several other organisations.
• We have already decided to have this again in 2020 on the last Saturday of March, 2020.
• Donated $12,500 toward the cost of the double Flying Fox at Linklater Reserve, a very popular attraction for young & old.
• Hosted one of the PN City Council “Movies in the Parks” which poor weather enabled us to host 90 people in our Kelvin Grove Community Centre. Photographs from this event at our presentation.
• Installed a new laser projector & large 3 x 2 metre screen.
• Our Guest speakers this year will be >>
• His Worship the Mayor of Palmerston North, Mr. Grant Smith
• Palmerston North City Council Chief Infrastructure Officer Tom Williams.
• Palmerston North City Council Senior Property & Parks Planner Aaron Phillips
• Palmerston North Neighbourhood Support Field Officer Alison Jarden JP
• Election of Kelvin Grove Community Association Committee, we need more members, membership free of charge.
• Please offer to become a Kelvin Grove Community Association Committee Member, we need you.
• This year we will be hosting our AGM in our main hall so you can see everything we’ve done on our presentation on our big 3 by 2 metre screen, as well enjoy afternoon tea plus a 10 minute presentation of Latin American dancing by Barbara and Xavier, the day before they fly to New York to attend the Empire State Championships competition in Latin American dance.
• -------------------------------------------------
Barbara and Xavier have been competing as a couple for 7 years. They are New Zealand Champions for Latin American Masters 1 & 2 Open event, Masters 1 Level 5 event and the Masters 2 Level 5 event, and in New Vogue Masters 2 Level 2 and Masters 1 Level 1 New Vogue to name a few.
They travel to Australia or England. They have competed 3 times in Blackpool England with their best result at 15th, 2 times in the Australian National Championship with their best result at 2nd. They have attended the Outside Change Cup in Australia for the last 3 years in Latin and have placed 1st each year.
This does not include the local National competitions and other local Australian competitions that they attend.
Where do they train? Right here in our Kelvin Grove Community Centre.

Does anyone have these currently I can get a cutting of?
Many thanks

Hey neighbours,
After months of searching for three guns, supposedly stolen from the Palmerston North station, police have turned up two of them during a national audit. How's your level of confidence in the thin blue line at the moment?
There has been a recall of the following vehicles for airbag issues:
HOLDEN ASTRA, Model year 2009
HOLDEN ASTRA, Model years 2005-2008
HOLDEN HSV, Model year 2009
You will receive a letter from Holden advising to book into your nearest Holden Dealer.

Venues, attractions, councils and businesses are increasingly improving their physical and sensory accessibility provisions to enable everyone to enjoy what they have to offer. These great places might have accessibility features that help with physical access and inclusion, or perhaps special sensory features.
Submit your review as part of Firstport’s Great Accessibility Day Out competition and help share news of the places that are top of the pack when it comes to providing accessibility for all. By entering you’ll go in the draw to win an Annual Pass for an attraction of your choice, up to the value of $250!
From the reviews received, Firstport plans to build a fantastic library of reviews to sit on the website that other family and friend groups can check out next time they’re planning a special day out. The competition closes 5pm Sunday 11th August 2019.
