10am to 12pm Rāranga weaving demonstration
Lisa Harding (Ngāi Tahu, Ngāti Hako, Ngāti Maniapoto) will give a Rāranga weaving demonstration at Arts in Oxford.
Free public event. 1.30-3.30pm. Exploring Manaia with Leisa Aumua (Ngāi Tahu, Ngāti Mamoe, Waitaha, Kāti Hāteatea)
This workshop will explore Māori symbols of manaia (guardian figure) and whetu (stars) to create a Matariki mobile or wall art. Suitable for kids of all ages but parents to accompany pre-schoolers please.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
