Warning of floooding this weekend
MetService has issued the latest severe weather warning and watches for the area - with potential for gales, heavy rain, flooding and slips in Otago and Southland this weekend.
The biggest rainfall accumulations are expected in Fiordland north of Doubtful Sound, Westland south of Otira, and about the the Otago and Canterbury Headwaters. Up to 140mm could accumulate, and a Heavy Rain Warning is now in force for these areas.
This Watch is possibility that northwest gales could approach severe gale force in parts of Fiordland, Southland, Otago and Canterbury. Please note, that a Heavy Rain warning is in force for Fiordland, Westland, and the Otago and Canterbury headwaters.
