Police need information following Clyde fire
Police are appealing for information following a fire in Clyde over the weekend.
Emergency services were called to a property on Newcastle Street about 5.15am on Sunday 24 March after a neighbour saw flames.
Minutes earlier the neighbour had heard glass breaking and a vehicle leaving at speed.
No one was home at the time.
Initial enquires by fire investigators and Police indicate the fire was deliberately lit.
Police are asking any local businesses with CCTV footage around the time of the fire to get in touch.
Anyone else with information is also urged to call Alexandra Police on (03) 440 2500 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
