Janet Frame Eden Street Trust

Cara from Waitaki District

Hi everyone. We're really excited to have secured two of New Zealand's best authors for our Writers and Readers Weekend 2018 in Oamaru.

Catherine Chidgey and Kate Camp are both multi-award winning writers and are both longlisted for this year's New Zealand Book Awards.

The creative writing workshop has already sold out! There are two other events to attend -
That 'Inviolate Place' is on at The Inkbox on Friday 16th Feb - an intimate Q&A with each author interviewing the other.

Early Bird tickets from The Opera House are $20 plus service fees (General Admission $25 plus service fees).

The Literary Picnic is a FREE, family friendly event at the Janet Frame House (56 Eden St) on Sunday 18th Feb. Tea, coffee and homemade lemonade provided. Brings rugs, seat and snacks.

Poll: Should we ditch daylight saving? 🕰️

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

First introduced in New Zealand in 1927 with the passing of the Summer Time Act, it's what we know as 'Daylight Saving' and this year it ends on the first Sunday in April.

While we do get to sleep in this time around, some people would like to scrap the clock tinkering for good.

And why? Some evidence suggests the time changes are bad for our health as they mess with sleep patterns leading to short-term fatigue and affecting mood. Meanwhile the hour change is frustrating for farmers and a nightmare for getting the littlies to sleep. But what's your take?
