Power off to retrieve truck and road closed

The Team from Christchurch City Council

Power will be cut for 64 customers in Allandale, near Governors Bay, this afternoon to allow the safe removal of a truck that has gone off a road in the area.

The road will be closed for approx 2 hours while the vehicle is removed with a mobile crane. Motorists who would normally travel via Allandale to Charteris Bay or through to Motukarara or Akaroa will need to use SH 75 as an alternative while the closure is in place to avoid delays.

The power will be switched off later this afternoon for an estimated four to six hours. The outage allows Orion to earth and remove lines that are above the truck. This will allow crane access for the safe removal of the vehicle.

Customers can check if their service is affected, or be updated by checking Orion website’s Power Outages section, or calling the Orion Contact Centre on 03 363 9898 or 0800 363 9898, or checking out Orion's current outages page: www.oriongroup.co.nz...

Response to regifting presents

Gordon from Halswell

My mind tends to wander:
I do not see any problem with regifting it back to the person who gave it, they obviously liked it. In fact, that might work out well as you buy the present you want, then gift it to someone you know who will gift it back.
Perfect, no decision needs to be made about Xmas presents
