The Whangaroa Community Trust was established to serve the Whangaroa community by empowering local initiatives to gain traction and support. Acting as an umbrella organisation helping our community to work together more. The Trust applies for grants and collects donations for resources that will assist our communities to grow. The Trust plans to lead a variety of community focus groups to encourage motivated people to work together to create new community based projects. Our current priorities look to connect and engage with our wider community, hear your voices, gain knowledge and connect people together to create new community events and activities. We look to improve the local amenities in our area contributing to enhancing the environment we live in. We look to find ways we can support local businesses and new enterprises to flourish. We promote local events through the production of a monthly calendar that is posted on community notice boards, in shop windows and posted online. We are open to anyone in our community to meet with the community coordinators, Angela Norman and Rachel Palmer and share your vision and ideas. Angela acts as the glue to connect people together and Rachel having the ability to fund raise on your behalf collectively we can help our community to create a vibrant Neighbourhood.
