The Habitat Curtain Bank provides low income Auckland individuals and whanau with free curtains for their home.
Research shows that well fitted curtains are effective at reducing heat loss. This not only helps keep a home warm and healthy, but also greatly helps with reducing energy bills.
Many families, particularly living in rental properties cannot afford to buy good quality curtains. The Habitat Curtain Bank exists to help support these families.
If you have a community services card or a child that has been hospitalised with respiratory illnesses, Habitat may be able to help. Please contact us.
The Habitat Curtain Bank exists as a vital public resource.
Since its inception, the Curtain Bank has cut, sewn and re-purposed thousands of curtains enabling hundreds of families to live in warmer and healthier homes.
The Curtain Bank was established in 2014 by GreenStar Energy Solutions, a local insulation business with a philanthropic heart.
Now operated by Habitat for Humanity, the Curtain Bank is seeking to further increase the services' impact across Auckland supporting more and more families.
The Habitat Curtain Bank relies on the generous donations of individuals and funders who donate their time, finances or their pre-loved curtains.
