Neighbourhood Trust (NHT) was established in 1999 by the people of St Albans Baptist Church (SABC) to enrich the lives of the immediate community and further afield. NHT is a Christian-based charitable trust governed by a Board of Trustees.  The current Trustees are Hugh Swaney (Chair), Graham Collinswood (Secretary), Todd Henderson(Treasurer), Alan Bastin, John Alpe (seconded), Kaye Hills, Tim Burton,Ngaire Button, and Leanna Dodge.

NHT's vision is to identify and respond to the needs in the community of North St Albans/Mairehau/Shirley not being met by other groups. The Trust uses a strengths-based approach to community development, believing each person has God-given potential, seeking to bring this out and enhance the resources existing in the community.

The Trust works mainly with families and the elderly, providing a wide range of activities and services focussed on empowering and strengthening the community. The Trust offers a hand-up, not a hand-out.
