Takapuna Playcentre is an early childhood centre for children from birth to six years old. It is a parent co-operative and run by parents. The Playcentre philosophy is based on child initiated play and recognises parents as the first and best educators of their own children. Takapuna Playcentre is open 5 mornings for 2.5hr sessions to suit all families. We have a session especially for 4 -6 year olds only run on Wednesday mornings to help them get ready for school. We also have other children's programmes running after sessions such as Playball and 'keeping ourselves safe programme" for members. Play centre also offers parents free NZQA educational training and workshops to learn about children development and parenting skills.
