Sweet Charity is a stunning collaboration between two organisations, Supporting Families in Mental Illness and The Grief Centre. Supporting Families is a non-government mental health and addictions service provider for families and whanau. The Grief Centre is a Charitable Trust committed to providing support to those affected by grief and loss. Both not-for-profit organisations are themselves charitable and are equal shareholders of Sweet Charity Ltd. The Sweet Charity store opened in May 2017, selling donated recycled clothing and homewares in a small space in Glenfield, on Auckland’s North Shore. Our shop space is leased from the Glenfield Community Centre and historically has been used for many community-focused projects. In May 2018 we launched our online store, becoming New Zealand’s first online charity store.
