Streetworks Charitable Trust is a group of people dedicated to building a connected and supportive community over the wider Hamilton area and within smaller communities. The three main aims of Streetworks are: Service: Serving the communities of Hamilton City. Exposure: Providing a platform aimed at exposing people to the needs of our city. Culture: Creating a community of people with a culture of active service and compassion for others. Streetworks strives to break down break down barriers between the diverse population of our city by running large-scale volunteer work days and a number of other projects and smaller events throughout the year. Last year these projects included firewood chop and delivery, running Whanau Days of lots of activities to give families a fun and affordable afternoon, spending time in a local rest home, and sending teams into the community to do yard work for those who are elderly, unwell, disabled, or otherwise unable to manage their own backyard. This year we are all geared up to go again, with monthly events posted on our website and facebook page, open for volunteers to sign up or community agencies or individuals to send in referrals for people who may need a hand up.
