Māpura Studios (formerly Spark Centre of Creative Development) is a creative space offering visual arts and art therapy programmes for people living with disabilities, impairment, or other social and personal need. We provide a professional service in person-centred visual arts learning and creative therapies. We are an independent organisation, administered by Panacea Arts Charitable Trust and funded by sponsorship, grants and programme fees.
Māpura offers innovative art programmes for children, teens and adults of all abilities, with particular care given to ensuring those with diverse needs are provided for.
Each programme consists of 9 to 10 sessions to mirror the New Zealand school term structure. Any person of any background and life experience who is interested in developing their creativity is welcome. Enrolments are possible at any point during a term.
