South Auckland House of Science is based in Pakuranga. I'm looking for people to help pickup and deliver science kits to member schools. Myself and a couple of others currently deliver almost 30 kits per fortnight. However, we need more people to help. Areas we deliver to: Glendowie, … View moreSouth Auckland House of Science is based in Pakuranga. I'm looking for people to help pickup and deliver science kits to member schools. Myself and a couple of others currently deliver almost 30 kits per fortnight. However, we need more people to help. Areas we deliver to: Glendowie, Meadowbank, Mt Wellington, Howick, Flat Bush, Ormiston, Papatoetoe & Māngere.
You would only be doing one or two areas and a couple of hours each time and it depends on the bookings for that fortnight.
Days: Thursday and/or Friday each fortnight during term time
Hours: school hours and variable
Must have own large vehicle and be able to lift kits weighing up to 24kg.
Mileage will be reimbursed.

I am looking for volunteers to
join a small team to help process the kits that have been returned from our member schools. This involves checking the equipment in the kit (cleaning if necessary) and restocking the consumables. Must have a reasonable command of written English.
We operate on a fortnightly loan system and require help every second Friday from 10 am during the school terms.
I do require volunteers on Friday 5th July, or else it will be from Friday 2nd August.

We operate on a fortnightly loan system and require help on Thursday, Friday or the following Monday. Here are the dates for Term 2:
18th ,19th May or 22nd May
1st , 2nd or 6th June (Tues)
15th, 16th or 19th June
29th or 30th June

This kit teaches students about recycling, linear and circular economies and aligns with HERA's sustainability goals. … View moreListen to this podcast 'Stirring the Pot' with HERA (Heavy Engineering Research Association). They generously sponsored a kit called 'A Load of Rubbish'. This kit teaches students about recycling, linear and circular economies and aligns with HERA's sustainability goals. Students also get to play with several different super absorbent polymers, make their own bio-plastic out of cornflour and investigate 7 straws from the raw materials through to the end use. When I visited HERA to show them the kit, they were blown away by how comprehensive it was and that the kits are bilingual.
I require volunteers to help me process our amazing science kits that get picked up and delivered to schools across East & South Auckland each fortnight. When the kits are returned to base, they need to be cleaned and consumables topped up.
