The Sisters of Our Lady of Compassion work together in a spirit of compassion, openness and integrity to meet the needs of the aged, the sick, the oppressed and the powerless in our communities... The Sisters of Compassion work actively towards the relief of human suffering through social work, pastoral care, prison and hospital chaplaincies, education, advocating for refugee and disadvantaged migrant communities and home and residential care of the sick and elderly. The Congregation head office is at Our Lady's Home of Compassion in Island Bay, Wellington. We run a number of services from there and the home also includes a conference and retreat centre. We work with people in a various communities throughout New Zealand and in Fiji and Tonga.
