Startup group on general model of neighbourhood peace groups of the 1980s. Aim: to help mitigate climate change by going beyond the internet; ie by having face to face discussions, encouraging positive action (especially reducing fossil fuels), educating locals about climate change where necessary, lobbying, etc. Activities include: street stalls where we can discuss the issue with the public, and offer suggestions for action, literature from related groups, lists of related websites, etc (later on we'll sell badges, tshirts etc); cottage meetings of members and others to discuss issues; Facebook. Linked to other organisations but not part of a political party.
