The club was founded in 1927 and has two huts in the Tararua range behind Levin. It also has a thirty two bed ski lodge at Whakapapa ski field on Mount Ruapehu. The lodge is at 1700 metres with only a 10 minutes walk from the 'Top of the Bruce' car park. The lodge has a drying room, two lounges, a dry sauna plus other mod cons. The club encourages non members and community groups to visit and enjoy our facilities. Meals are included in the daily tariff during the ski season.
