Community-based, non-profit, peer-peer heart event survivors support group. Heartbeats is supported by the Waitemata DHB Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit and Heart Foundation NZ as well as local medical practitioners and other professional healthcare providers. See description for currently established Heartbeats groups in Orewa (Heartbeats Hibiscus Coast) and Takapuna (Heartbeats Takapuna) on Neighbourly. Heartbeats is currently in the process of setting up a group in West Auckland at Henderson, that will be based near Waitakere Hospital and draws on the surrounding suburbs.
