Hamilton East will be celebrating its rich and colourful history on the 25th of February. The Hamilton East Heritage Day Festival is being held on Steele Park from 10.00am to 3.00pm.

The Hamilton East Heritage Day Festival is being held on Steele Park from 10.00am to 3.00pm.
There will be markets, historic displays, traditional children’s games, funfair rides, vintage tractors and fire trucks. Live entertainment on the stage from acts like Big Muffin Serious Band, and The Trenwith’s and Hair of the Dog, complete with Irish and colonial dancers. Penny farthings will be the order of the day.
The Hamilton East Community Trust organise the event, and this is the first time it has been held since the passing of Lois Livingstone.
It will be a great day on the middle of Steele Park, which as Sydney Square was regarded as the “cradle of Hamilton” It is a free community event, and people are encouraged to bring a picnic or get something to eat at the various food vendors available.
