Gribblehirst Community Hub

Community Organisation

The Hub is a membership-based organisation that offers a thriving community meeting place, focusing on making, creativity, recycling, upcycling, sharing skills, repairing and hatching ideas.

The things that happen here are the things members want and members can work on their own projects here, incubate social enterprises, run classes, host groups, and join in member activities such as dinners. Only members can hire space at the Hub and the hub is open anytime members want to use it between 6am and 11pm. Memberships start from $60/year - see our website for current prices and more details.

Many of the things members do here are open to the general public too. The Hub also offers a number of  events, such as Repair Cafes and other monthly anchor events.

There is plenty of opportunity to be part of creating an open, multi-use, arts, tech, cultural and event space with high-speed internet, hot desks, and newly renovated kitchen. We also hold the lease for the former bowling greens for use as a community garden, orchard, and outdoor community gathering and event space. Tumeke Cycle Space also operate on the Commons out of a renovated container and are usually open Sundays from 1.30 - 3.30 except public holidays.

We are based upstairs in the former Edendale Bowling Club building at Gribblehirst Park (5 Cabbage Tree Swamp Drive, Sandringham). The building is leased from Auckland Council and the lease and some of the things we do here are supported by the Albert-Eden Local Board. Send us a message if you want to know more, and we can show you around. See you there!
