Tiny Home Living, Land for Lease, Council Rules

Fran from Motueka

Kia ora Motueka neighbours 👋

For those who don’t know me, I’m Fran from Ruru Tiny Homes – many of you will have seen our homes around Motueka over the years, or heard of us locally.

I am looking for land lease opportunities for my clients, regularly, but I am aware how uncertain this topic can feel so I wanted to put a note here simply offering free, no-pressure advice and guidance for anyone who is:

- curious about living in a tiny home on wheels, or

- a landowner considering leasing a small part of their land to a tiny home tenant to generate income.

We’ve been working in this space for a long time with builders clients and Councils nationwide (including and often TDC and NCC) and are very focused on doing things properly – fully checked against regulations, council expectations and legal realities. No “let’s just do it and hope for the best”, no dodgy arrangements, and no sub-standard homes that cause problems for neighbours or landowners down the track.

Tiny living can be a really positive solution when it’s done well, and also a minefield when it isn’t – so if you’re looking for clarity, education, or just someone local to talk things through with, I’m very happy to help.

Feel free to comment or send me a private message if this is relevant to you, or if you’d simply like to understand how it works in the Motueka / Tasman context.

You can also email me or call me, our details are on the Ruru Tiny Homes Website and I am happy to chat over the phone or via email too!

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?

Time to Tickle Your Thinker 🧠

The Riddler from The Neighbourly Riddler

If a zookeeper had 100 pairs of animals in her zoo, and two pairs of babies are born for each one of the original animals, then (sadly) 23 animals don’t survive, how many animals do you have left in total?

Do you think you know the answer? Simply 'Like' this post and we'll post the answer in the comments below at 2pm on the day!
