Appeal for information: Assault, Claudelands

The Team from Waikato Police

Police are looking to make contact with a member of the public who stepped in during an assault in Claudelands (16 September).

Emergency services were called about 10.35am to an incident on Brooklyn Road, where a man was allegedly assaulting a woman in the street. A member of the public stopped and tried to help, and has then also allegedly been assaulted. They have then left the scene before Police arrived.

We are hoping to speak with the person who intervened – firstly, to check on their welfare, and secondly, so we can take a statement from them with regards to the incident.

If this is you, or you know who this might be, we ask you to please get in touch.
You can do so through our 105 service, quoting file number 250916/6932.

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

Nigel Dring had looked forward to retirement, but only got months to enjoy it.
