Seeking a Rural Rental

Lisa from Tauranga City

Seeking a One-Bedroom Cottage in Rural Tauranga

Hello! I’m a mature, working woman—quiet, reliable, and respectful—looking to rent a one-bedroom cottage in a peaceful rural area around Tauranga. I’d love to settle somewhere long-term with my gentle and well-behaved cat.

Preferred Areas: Pillians Point Te Puna, Minden, Bethlehem, Pahoia,Whakamarama, Omanawa, or along the old highway.

My Ideal Home Includes: (flexible with my wish list)

Unfurnished
Warm and insulated
A stove (doesn’t have to be full size—just something with elements and an oven big enough to bake bread; not just a microwave, please)
Space for my fridge and washing machine
Separate lounge and bedroom
A little area for a garden
Peaceful surroundings
Budget $465

I’m a non-smoker, do not vape or drink, and can provide excellent references. If you have—or know of—a place that sounds like this, I’d love to hear from you. Please send me a DM

Thank you so much

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
