We have a high need for committed, multi-skilled volunteers to form part of our new Disaster Welfare and Support Team in Katikati. The team will train fortnightly in the Katikati Red Cross building on Middlebrook Drive, Katikati.

### Role Description
You could be deployed to assist in a flood, fire or other large-scale emergencies, and you’ll help with a range of activities.

### Your Tasks
- Setting up and providing support in evacuation centers
- Undertaking needs assessments to understand what support people need
- Providing psychosocial support

### Volunteer requirements for DWST
- 16+ Years Old
- Physically fit
- A good communicator
- Able to commit to your team for at least 12 months
- Able to pass New Zealand Police Check (support Services Child/youth)
- Able to provide 2 referees for character check

Support your community during an emergency, join your local Disaster Welfare and Support Team (DWST) and help people prepare for disasters and to get through when an emergency or disaster happens.
