Epsom Youth MP 2025 - applications now open
Do you know anyone aged 16-18 who you think would make a great Youth MP for Epsom?
Youth Parliament is held every three years and is an opportunity for young New Zealanders to learn about democracy and have their voices heard.
The programme will run from 28 April to 29 August, with the two-day event taking place on 1 and 2 July at Parliament in Wellington. Each electorate selects a Youth MP who will sit in their MPs seat for a mock debate, question time, and other Parliamentary procedures.
Applications to be the 2025 Youth MP for Epsom are now open until midday Friday 28 February.
Applicants must be between 16 – 18 years of age as at Friday 28 February 2025 (inclusive).
Applicants who are aged 17 years or under as at 28 February 2025 are required to obtain consent from their parent or legal guardian to apply.
Prospective candidates must attend a school in the Epsom electorate and/or live in the Epsom electorate - please note though that applicants do not have to be school students in order to apply.
Applicants must also be available to attend a live election at 6pm on Friday 28 March at the Mt Eden Village Centre, 449 Mt Eden Rd, Mt Eden.
Please feel free to forward the attached poster which contains the link to apply to anyone you think might be interested in taking part and reach out to my team if you have any questions.
