Keeping a sea of road cones and their accompanying pipe and roadworks from bringing Hamilton’s CBD to a grinding halt is now a key focus at city hall.

A massive waters infrastructure rollout starts in 2026 with getting the work right a key challenge for Hamilton City Council in the face of various CBD issues, including recent concerns over safety and offensive behaviour .

‘Simply irresponsible’: Wallaby likely kept as pet in Hamilton, regional council says

A wallaby spotted in Hamilton was probably kept as a pet, the regional council says - and that’s “simply irresponsible”.

The dama wallaby, which had an immature joey in its pouch, was spotted in Frankton on March 3, reported and killed, Waikato Regional Council says.
