Reclaim the Hardwick Smith Lounge in Belmont Domain for community use

James from Belmont

"🚨 We need YOUR Support to reclaim the Lounge! 🚨

The Hardwick-Smith Lounge is at risk of being lost forever, and without community support, we won’t be able to bring it back. The Council has no funds to restore it, so it’s up to us to reclaim and restore this space for Belmont and Lower Hutt!

It only takes 2 minutes to make a real difference. Sign the petition now and show that our community is ready to stand together.

👉 Sign the petition: change.org...
👉 Join us at the public meeting on October 23rd at 7:30 PM at the Kelson Community Centre, 5A timaru Grove, Kelson

We need YOUR voice to reclaim this vital community space. Let’s unite and show that we are strong, committed, and ready to act!

Together, we can reclaim the Hardwick-Smith Lounge! Let’s show what community power can achieve! 💪"

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
