Tokoroa’s social supermarket and BBM gym are “safe for now” says their founder David Letele after his South Auckland foodshare charity closed its doors due to high running costs.

On Thursday, the Auckland-based community leader and former professional boxer said he had to close the doors on his South Auckland BBM Foodshare, which was providing meals for around 700 families.

‘Simply irresponsible’: Wallaby likely kept as pet in Hamilton, regional council says

A wallaby spotted in Hamilton was probably kept as a pet, the regional council says - and that’s “simply irresponsible”.

The dama wallaby, which had an immature joey in its pouch, was spotted in Frankton on March 3, reported and killed, Waikato Regional Council says.
