Harmony Waikato Spectacular

Richard from Cambridge

Thrill to the amazing sound of three of New Zealand's leading choruses plus our top quartets, all singing in four-part harmony. The rich male voices of Mighty River Harmony, the sparkle of the mixed youth chorus Manu Manu Mātātahi , and the dazzle of the Waikato Rivertones Women's chorus - each has won medals in competitions. As well, gold medal men's and women's quartets, including national winners The Usual Suspects and Unlimited, will entertain along with superb new mixed quartets.

Late in September they compete again in the Barbershop Harmony NZ Convention in Wellington. This is their chance to entertain you with their competition songs in preparation for the contest.

"I was blown away - I didn't know we had such talent in the Waikato" is a typical comment from audience members after previous shows. Don't miss this one!

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

While things are looking calmer in the days ahead, there are still plenty of slips and flooded roads across the district — so if you’re heading out, take it easy and stay alert.

We want to know: How did you and your whānau get on over the weekend?
