Eyreton Hall special meeting
Eyreton hall (4 Mandeville Rd) meeting on Monday 19 February at 7.30 pm to discuss the hall's options with respect to the rapidly escalating cost of being connected to the electricity grid. Because the hall is categorised as 'non-residential' the daily charge is now over $6 and will increase again later this year. In January this year only 10 units (kWh) of electricity was used. Because of the very expensive daily charge, January's bill was $223 so each unit cost $22.30! In 2021 the daily charge was well under $2. Please attend our special meeting to offer useful advice and help us decide our options.
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
