Wellington City Council

Bill from Island Bay

My thoughts - the council blames the previous councils for the state of our infrastructure but our present council are not doing even 50% of the job either. They seem to focus predominantly on cycle-lanes, speed bumps, raised pedestrian crossings instead of focusing on the water leaks and other water related issues. They claim they are going to put up our rates between 12-15% and then on top of that give us water meters for their incompetence of running the council. I see we will be getting a new charge on our rates invoice for Moa Point. Why should we pay this as they are wasting money on secret deals that we can only imagine how many more they have made that haven't been leaked. The council have become a dictatorship as they put out surveys for community feedback and then toss it in the bin if it doesn't align with their ideology. They've have already made up their minds and are going through the motions. How can we have a mayor that does not engage, takes no responsibility but has time to mention full steam ahead on cycleways. This needs a reset. We need a mayor like Wayne Brown for Wellington. Meals on Wheels Delivery Drivers needed for Brooklyn run

Euan from Brooklyn

Meals on Wheels is a valuable community service made possible thanks to a team of volunteers who deliver food during weekdays to seniors and the housebound throughout wider Brooklyn. Delivery drivers pick up the meals from the Brooklyn Community Centre in Harrison Street from approximately 11:15am - 11:30am and then go out on their run which takes around an hour and a half. If you are able to help either weekly, fortnightly or monthly to deliver meals or would like to know more, please contact Sue the Brooklyn volunteer Meals on Wheels coordinator on 021 620 599 or email: sue@mcglashan.co.nz
