When it comes to reliving the days of water transport in the Hauraki-Coromandel Ports, it’s by river rather than sea.
With not a drop of ocean in sight, the 1920s former fishing boat Ariana made her centennial trip this week surrounded by rural courier trucks, cars and farm folk, relaunched to glide along the narrow canals of the local Waihou River.
