What are your Trees Tavern memories?

As fire chief Dave Morris explained the scene at Tokoroa’s fire ravaged Trees Tavern, a passer-by remarked: “Lots of drunken memories gone up in flames in there.”

For nearly 50 years the building, an icon of low-slung road house pubs across the country, had beckoned to thirsty travellers and locals alike.
