LIONS MONSTER BOOKFAIR 14 & 15 OCTOBER

Terry Burch from Waikanae Lions Club

The Lions Monster Bookfair will be held at the Waikanae Memorial Hall on Saturday and Sunday 14th and 15th of October.

There will be a great range of books on sale most at $2 each.

The doors will open at 8am on Saturday until 5pm, and on Sunday opening at 9am until 2 pm.

Loads of fiction, travel, cooking, gardening, hobbies, biographies, books, puzzles and games and musical material – enough to satisfy everyone on the whole of Kapiti Coast at least until next year’s Bookfair.

And as always, the funds raised will go to many needy organisations.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
