An event not to be missed!
the Pottery in Havelock will have an exhibition of past and present members work tomorrow as part of the Havelock North Function Centres 25th birthday celebrations. Come along and see the wide range of sculptural and utilitarian pieces that can be achieved as a member of our group. Our exhibition will be open from 10am to 3pm. Items are not for sale but The Pottery in Bennelong Place does have a sales table where work can be purchased if you get enthused!

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

New neighbour
Okay folks, if you feed your animals outside, you might want to rethink that. We have new nocturnal neighbours, inside Havelock North.
There is a very well fed brush tail possum up the pōhutukawa tree in my garden.
I don’t know where it’s come in from, but it’s in the middle of a residential neighbourhood, so keep an eye on your pet doors, open windows and doors and pet food.
I’ll be notifying council and DOC tomorrow.
