Volunteers needed at Wheels this weekend
Volunteers make all the difference - Wheels needs you!
'Wheels at Wairarapa' is going to be a stunner of an event, so how about volunteering?
You don’t need to be into cars, trucks or machines. You just have to be helpful, energetic and friendly and be prepared to do shifts over the three days. There is set up and pack down work to do as well.
Each volunteer receives a free T-shirt, cap and drink/snacks for their minimum of two days work.
Volunteers are key to making events run smoothly and provide a warm welcome to many people attending from outside our region.
The festival is fun for the whole family-friendly over Waitangi Weekend with entertainment, food and drinks on offer.
Cars, bikes, trucks, agricultural and contractors equipment, and even a team of Clydesdale horses with rides available! Get up close to machines restored by hand to original working condition. See rare, private collections of vehicles and machinery.
Clareville Showgrounds is the location and the weather forecast is for mostly sunny weather. So, check out the volunteers section on the website. Come along and have a memorable experience with the team!

Builder Wanted or seeking builder (LBP).
We are looking for a semi-retired builder or solo LBP to supervise / co-work with me while I undertake an extension project as a self-build . Rates to be negotiated prior to commencement. Currently in the design stage at present with Architect. I have experience from past house builds so not a raw beginner, both in design and construction.
Thanks Phil

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
-
59.6% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
25.9% No, individuals should take responsibility
