Serious crash in Bay of Plenty
One person has now been airlifted to hospital following a crash in Western Bay of Plenty. They are said to be in a critical condition.
About 7:35am, emergency services were called to Te Matai Road in Te Ranga after a single vehicle had collided with a tree.
The Serious Crash Unit is attending and diversions are in place as the road between Mark Road and Pyes Pa Road is now closed. Motorists are advised that the road is likely to be closed for several hours.
