The Weather and the Beach

Terry from Foxton Beach

Thanks very much for the interest and replies. You have to expect some erosion from a storm of this ferocity however I have not seen it at a 2-metre cliff in the past, less than half that. I guess the prolonged nature of this storm pounding away at the sand hills brought about this effect. Positive stuff Lani? Yes it was quite exhilarating to be out on the beach in the storm as long as one was wrapped up in their winter woollies. Nature knocked it down so I guess Nature will put the sand back over time as it did last time around. Cheers Terry

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
