Looking for Leaders
At Gordon Scout Group, we are always looking for new leaders to help us achieve our purpose, "we empower youth through adventurous experiences to lead live that make a positive difference". Being a leader generally required a 1-2 hour time commitment to attend section nights each week as well as about 1 hour of planning at home. It is extremally rewarding to see the personal development in youth over time. We have groups covering all ages from 5 to 18 years old. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
