THINKING OF GETTING YOUR HOUSE PAINTED THIS YEAR?
Dear Neighbours,
I have been painting Devonport houses for the last quarter of a century and have successfully restored many old Kauri villas to their former glory and their owners satisfaction.
Having cleaned the boards and windows with sugar soap I remove any rot and epoxy the cavity before using ados builders filler to restore the surface . Any loose putty is removed and replaced with Selleys linseed based putty. Resene oil based primer is used to seal exposed wood and putty.
Typically the weather boards are given two coats of Resene Sonyx 101 semi gloss acrylic paint which is a resilient attractive paint and the windows and doors are given two coats of semi gloss lustacryl which has block resistance to resist wear from surface rubbing.
If you were trying to save money by doing some of the work yourself or employing a son or daughter to help I would be happy to supervise this. Please contact me on the cell phone number provided or email address and I will provide photos of recently completed work as well as references
Thank you
Peter

Poll: Should we ditch daylight saving? 🕰️
First introduced in New Zealand in 1927 with the passing of the Summer Time Act, it's what we know as 'Daylight Saving' and this year it ends on the first Sunday in April.
While we do get to sleep in this time around, some people would like to scrap the clock tinkering for good.
And why? Some evidence suggests the time changes are bad for our health as they mess with sleep patterns leading to short-term fatigue and affecting mood. Meanwhile the hour change is frustrating for farmers and a nightmare for getting the littlies to sleep. But what's your take?
-
41.2% Yes - get rid of the clock changes
-
57.3% No, I enjoy it
-
1.5% Other - I'll share below
