HILL CLOSURE - This SUNDAY (9th January)

It would be easy to get caught by this one - given it's still light and it's the night before many people return to work. PLEASE ADVISE YOUR GUESTS, FREINDS AND FAMILY. Overnight closure of State Highway 2 (SH2) the Remutaka Hill - road will be closed from 9pm on Sunday until 4am on Monday 10 January 2022, to allow crews to safely complete essential maintenance work.
An escorted vehicle service is available for shift workers and others with light vehicles who have no option but to cross the Remutaka Hill during the closures.
Bookings are essential as numbers are limited for motorists’ safety and the safety of workers at multiple sites across the hill and should be done by Friday 7 January at customer@capitaljourneys.co.nz
during the works.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
