New boardwalk completes walkway around Matua Saltmarsh

Communications from Tauranga City Council

Just in time for the holidays! Check out the new Bay Street boardwalk which connects the walkway through and around Papahenga – the Matua Saltmarsh from Carlton Reserve in Ngātai Road to Bay Street Reserve.

If you’re into birdwatching, the saltmarsh is home to the native banded rail and North Island fernbird.
