Halloween Colouring Competition

Holly Houston from Devonport Peninsula Trust

While we were disappointed to have to postpone the Bayswater Halloween Trail until Friday 1st April 2022, we wanted to provide some fun and entertainment to our local tamariki in the meantime!

Colour or decorate one of our four spooky designs, then display it in your window or somewhere else that is visible from the street, like your fence. Take a photo of your beautiful work and send it in to us via email: devonportcommunity@gmail.com or or upload it to the comments on this Facebook post for a chance to win a prize!
You can download all four designs from the link here:
www.devonportpeninsulatrust.nz...
Or if you don't have a printer at home, there are hard copies available from the Devonport Community House and The Rose Centre.

The winner will be chosen at random and announced on Facebook on 1st November.
Make sure to go for a hīkoi on 31st of October to spot the Halloween colouring in around your neighbourhood!

Lastly, follow the Bayswater Halloween Trail event on Facebook for updates, and don't forget to buy your Halloween costumes now while they are available in shops!

We can't wait to see all your spooky creativity,
The DPT rōpū.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
